Payroll is updating address validations to be in line with IRAS validations, so users do not get an error when they file taxes with IRAS during tax season (Jan-Mar).
Currently, the payroll platform for SG supports 3 types of address and the updated validations will be as follows:
Local Address
- “residential block/house no” cannot be blank AND has 10 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential street name” cannot be blank AND has 32 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential level number” cannot be blank AND has 3 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential unit number” cannot be blank AND has 5 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential postcode” cannot be blank AND cannot be “000000” or “999999” AND has 6 alphanumeric character limit
Foreign address and/or Local C/O Address
- “residential address line 1” cannot be blank AND has 30 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential address line 2” must be blank when “residential address line 1” is blank AND has 30 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential address line 3” must be blank when “residential address line 2” is blank AND has 30 alphanumeric character limit
- “residential postalcode” cannot be blank AND cannot be “000000” or “999999” AND has 6 alphanumeric character limit
Further, in all address fields, payroll will not be accepting the following special characters:
