Pay Condition/Rule Engine Enhancements

Product
Global

We have introduced several enhancements to our pay conditions rule engine, as follows:

1. Add Allowance Action:

We have updated the Maximum setting configuration on allowance pay condition rules to support dynamic capping based on individual employee contracted hours.

Previously, payroll administrators could only apply a static, fixed cap across all employees. When configuring a maximum cap on an Add allowance action, users can now select from two additional types:

  • Employee standard hours
  • Employee advanced standard hours

The two new options automatically calculate the limit according to the employee's basic or advanced daily or weekly contracted hours as configured in their Pay Run Defaults.

Additionally, we have also updated the Minimum setting configuration on allowance pay condition rules to include a per day option.

2. Adjust Classification Action:

We have introduced two new options - Majority and Highest modes - across four flexible scopes:

  • Shift
  • Day
  • Week
  • Shift period

With these options enabled, the system automatically calculates and applies the correct rate based on either:

  • Majority mode: The classification worked for the most hours.
  • Highest mode: The highest-ranked classification level achieved.

3. Allocate Earnings to Pay Category Action

This action is designed to take the headache out of managing complex penalty conditions for multi-role teams.

If your staff work across different positions with varying base rates, you can set a single rule that:

  • Directs penalty earnings (e.g., overtime) to a shared pay category.
  • Automatically calculates the penalty rate based on the exact base position rate the employee actually worked.
