Content Republishing and Promotion Guide

Guide

Supporting you in promoting Employment Hero

Thank you for your interest in promoting Employment Hero through your website and marketing channels. We’re excited to work with you and want to ensure you have the right tools and guidance to share our content effectively, while protecting the SEO performance of both your site and ours.

This guide outlines how you can use Employment Hero content on your website, best practices to follow when republishing or adapting content, and what to expect as we work together.

What content partners can use

As an Employment Hero Partner, you’re welcome to use a wide range of Employment Hero content to support your promotional efforts. This includes:

  • Articles and guides from our blog and resources section

  • Case studies and customer success stories

  • Company news and announcements

  • Marketing collateral (when provided by our team)

If you’re unsure whether a piece of content is appropriate to use, or if you have a specific request, please contact the Partner Marketing team at partner@employmenthero.com.

Republishing content: SEO guidelines

When republishing Employment Hero content on your website (for example, a full article), it’s important to follow a few simple SEO practices. This will help us avoid duplicate content issues with search engines and ensure that both of our sites remain strong in search rankings.

1. Add a canonical tag (preferred method)

If you’re publishing the content in full, please add a canonical tag in the <head> of the page, pointing to the original URL on the Employment Hero website. (You might have to ask your SEO/Content or developer to add this for you).

Example:

URL of page:
https://partnerwebsite.com/blog/seo-for-payroll-services-blog-posts/

Add the following tag in the <head>..</head> section of your page.

<link rel="canonical" href="https://employmenthero.com/blog/seo-for-payroll-services-blog-posts/" />

This signals to search engines that the original source is on our domain, and will help us both avoid duplicate content issues or penalties from search engines.

Note: You will need to update the URL you add to the <head> above to match the URL of the content you are publishing.

2. Include source attribution

Always credit the original source somewhere on the page. A simple line like this works well:

This article was originally published on Employment Hero:
https://employmenthero.com/blog/seo-for-payroll-services-blog-posts

This helps with transparency for your readers and search engines alike.

3. Delay republishing

Where practical, wait five to seven days after we first publish the content before posting it on your site. This gives search engines time to index the original page before discovering the duplicate.

4. If you cannot add a canonical tag (less ideal)

If your content platform doesn’t support canonical tags, you can still avoid SEO issues by using a noindex meta tag to prevent your version from being indexed:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex" />

This ensures your page won’t compete in search rankings with the original content.

Adapting or rewriting content?

If you’d prefer to rewrite or adapt our content for your audience, that’s completely fine. In this case, we recommend:

  • Making sure the version you publish is meaningfully different from the original

  • Staying aligned with Employment Hero’s messaging and product positioning

  • Including a link back to the original source (step 2 above)

This approach gives you flexibility to tailor content to your voice and market, while respecting content ownership and SEO guidelines.
