Smarter Tags and Bulletproof Pay Rules

Managing multiple awards and employee tags just got a lot cleaner and significantly more reliable. Tracking allowances and keeping employee records clutter-free can be a balancing act. As such, a few updates have been introduced to the payroll platform. These updates are designed to eliminate the guesswork, bring absolute transparency to your tag management, and ensure your pay rules work flawlessly every single time.

Here is a breakdown of what was updated:

1. Tags Transparency: Clearer context everywhere

Previously, managing overlapping tags between your business and various awards could lead to a cluttered list, leaving you guessing which tag belonged where. We have redesigned the experience on both the management page and employee profiles to give you total clarity.

- Filter the Tags List by Award: When you visit Business Settings > Tags, you will notice a new dropdown filter. By default, the page loads to "Your tags," showing all your business-created tags. Want to see only the tags tied to a specific award? Just select it from the dropdown to instantly filter the list.

-Grouped Tag Picker for Employees: On the Employee Details page, the tag picker is now grouped under a "Your tags" section as well as under distinct headers for each installed Award.

-Enhanced API endpoint: The list business tag endpoint now includes the properties "awardId",  "awardName" and "source" to provide our integrated payroll partners the tools to group tags clearly in their UI.

2. Improved Tag Name Matching for Pay Rules 

We have made an improvement to how the platform matches tag names when applying pay rules, ensuring awards work reliably regardless of how tag names are capitalised.

Tag names are now matched case-insensitively, so an employee tagged "First Aid" will correctly activate rules referencing "First aid". This means pay rules will apply consistently without requiring exact capitalisation alignment between tags and award configurations. 

This applies automatically to all new award installations and updates going forward.
