Why this matters?
Payroll admins must manually add Dimension values (such as cost centre, department, or project) to leave accrual entries every time they export a payroll journal to their accounting system. This is repetitive because those same Dimension values are already configured on each earnings line in the pay run. The manual re-entry creates unnecessary work and increases the risk of mistakes in financial reporting.
What’s New?
When a payroll admin exports the payroll journal, leave accrual entries will automatically include the correct Dimension values - no manual entry required. The Dimension value on each leave accrual line will match the Dimension of the earnings line in the pay run that the leave accrual relates to, following the same logic as PAYG withholding dimensions. The Dimension column is always present in the journal export; for employees without Dimensions configured, the column appears but the value is blank. This change applies to new exports going forward; past journal exports are not affected. This change applies to NZ and AU.
