New Public Holiday Impacting Leave Requests for NSW-Based Employees

Last week, the NSW government announced a new public holiday on the Monday following Anzac Day for this year and next (2026 and 2027). If you do not have any NSW-based employees, you can disregard this update.

For organisations with NSW-based employees, this public holiday will impact any approved leave requests on 25 and 27 April 2026.

To ensure annual leave entitlements have been calculated correctly, we strongly recommend taking the following steps:

  1. Sign in to Employment Hero Payroll as an admin.
  2. Click the Manage Employees button on the payroll dashboard, then click Manage Requests under the Leave sub-menu.
  3. On the Leave Management screen, switch to the calendar view and navigate to 25 April 2026.
  4. Review any approved leave requests for NSW-based employees that occur on 25 and 27 April 2026 to ensure the hours have been calculated correctly.
