New Employee Approval Process for Superannuation Detail Changes (HR only)

We’re introducing a new approval process to the HR platform that ensures superannuation details are accurate and supports compliance with Payday Super. There is no change to the payroll platform at this time.

Currently, employers can update an employee’s superannuation details within the employee profile screen in the HR platform without the employee’s validation. This can create compliance risks, as employees must approve any changes to their super account information.

What’s changing:

  • Employees will now approve, reject, or edit proposed changes to their superannuation details before they take effect
  • Email notifications will be sent to both the employee and employer confirming the final outcome
  • Employers will no longer be able to update superannuation details post-onboarding within the employee profile screen in the HR platform without employee approval. (During onboarding and CSV imports, employers can still enter or edit superannuation details.)
  • Employers will continue to be able to assign the Employer Default Superannuation to their employees if their employee’s current superannuation details are invalid

This change ensures compliance requirements are met and protects the integrity of employee superannuation information and mitigates potentially fraudulent behaviours.
